Although John Williams and Alexander Courage Really Are Nothing to Sneeze At

So I'm really weirdly high on cold medicine. That sort of knocked-on-your-ass high where I can either lie on the sofa drifting in and out of consciousness and thinking I feel like crap, I feel like crap, ghod I so totally feel like crap, or I can get up and bounce in a floaty way off bookshelves and furniture and the rest of the oversize bumper-pool table that my living quarters seem to have become, or I can sit at the computer and look for zoned-out mindless high-on-antihistamines things to do, like play Lemmings (thank you oh so much, [livejournal.com profile] penmage), or troll through demo files of the weirdest downloadable music I can find.

This is probably not the state of mind in which to discover that one can download mp3 files of the entire Land of the Giants soundtrack album.

I mean, I suppose the fact that there should be downloadable mp3 files of this album is not that surprising.

But there was a Land of the Giants soundtrack album.

Featuring tracks such as "The Sniveling Sneak" and "Water Drain/ More Garbage."

I think I should go drift back into unconsciousness now.

Relax, sleep and get well soon.

Thanks, sweetie!

Are you a NyQuil sort, or Sudafed? My poison of choice for a long time was that fizzing Tylenol tablet, that nasty two-sided one. If one must be sick, at least she can go buzzin about on the cure. Feel better!

[identity profile] terrymcgarry.livejournal.com 2004-12-19 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a generic nighttime cold remedy--basically NyQuil without the alcohol--that relieves all my symptoms, and when I'm really hurtin' and not driving anywhere I'll take it during the day, but that's the one that gets me really stoned.

If I have to be functional, Sudafed.

And thanks for the feel-better wishes!

Someone else suggested the fizzy stuff, too, and I may give that a try.

Oh nuts, I hope you didn't catch [livejournal.com profile] thenetwork's cold. An entire album, huh? I know no one except you who has even heard of the show, hah.

Hard to trace the vector of infection, since I know so many people who've had nasty colds/flu recently. I hope [livejournal.com profile] thenetwork is feeling better now!

Yup, an entire album. After I found that one, I found a Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea album, too, which is even scarier. And albums of Classic Trek background music. Not general Classic Trek albums, but the music for specific episodes. I'm half appalled and half delighted. I listened to the "Constellation" theme from "The Doomsday Machine." It was kind of interesting out of visual context. (I loved the Classic Trek music.)

P.S.

I'm too dumb to be a lemming--I don't get it *g*.

Re: P.S.

LOL! I didn't get it at first, and then I did. (You have to choose a type of lemming from the list of abilities at the bottom--the low levels give you only one choice or two, effectively telling you what to do--and then click on one of the marching lemmings to give it that ability. If you want them not to march off a cliff, click on the first one to make him a blocker. If you want them to dig a hole down to the next tier, make one a digger or a miner.)

And then I found that fast-forward didn't work for me, so once I'd got them marching home, there was nothing to do but wait while eight thousand and seventy-two (okay, fifty) lemmings slowly marched home. Which is fine when you're multitasking, but...protracted when you're stoned and just staring at the screen.

Eee hee hee. Lemmings ate my afternoon, too.

Heh! I believe it!

They are awful cute.

Between HBP and the LSD-like hallucinations I've had on some meds, I have given up on taking *any* of the damned things and just crawl into bed to wait it out. Happily (knock on wood) I don't get sick often.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a weird reaction to these things, although sorry to hear that yours is extreme enough to make you avoid them altogether. I'm glad you're bug-resistant!
