The Hour Returns

I got that hour back. On Monday evening, I went into a writing trance. I was using the old computer, which doesn't reset the time. (In fact, it needs a new CMOS battery, and every time it boots up it thinks it's January 1, 1980, until I tell it differently.) After an indeterminate amount of time, maybe three hours, maybe four, I glanced down at the WordPerfect status bar. It said 10pm. But when I got up to take a break a second later, it was 9pm by the clock on my desk. Hooray for writers' trances.

You watch--that hour will bounce around like mad for the next 6 months until spring, when it shrivels up and just vanishes again.
