Weirdly, my sister didn't even know this thing had happened when I called her halfway through the day to find out if by any chance she'd heard anything from our London-area family. ("London-area" because some of them work in the city, but they live in the outlying suburbs. Bulk of the family is actually nowhere near London; some of them have never even been.) I think her being so unaware was almost as eerie as wondering whether we were going to get bad news.

Good news for us, turns out. Nobody was anywhere near the blasts.
