Yes, well said. I am both angry and sad about this whole thing. There are times when it's just appropriate to say--something went wrong here, we are absolutely sorry, we must find a way to prevent this in the future.

At a later time I will go into a long rant about how furious I am with high paid higher ups refusing to take responsibility for the things they're are getting paid TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR. And worse, blaming it on people who get nothing, lose everything, and are, sometimes, badly trained because the people who are getting paid to be responsible are sucking up all the resources and all the money and not doing THEIR GODDAMNED JOBS (which is not only related to stuff like this where if any blame is assigned it will go solely to the soldiers on the checkpoint but also that big wanker from Worldcom who is saying--well, I was too stupid to do this job anyway so I don't know why you're blaming me--GOOD GOD!!!

Oh, wait, I guess that was kind of a rant :-)
